Although taking shoes off isn't always the custom in the uk it is polite to ask, especially during the winter months. As for my Chinese friends living in the uk, I guess home owners have a 'shoes off' house rule while most Take Away owners living above the shop are really not that bothered about having to take your shoes off. Chinese students living in the uk vary.

i've just subscribed to the guided plan and had my first 'need analysis' today.

i joined chinesepod a little over a year ago, although been learning pimsleur's 90 lessons and other stuff, so not really bothered much with c'pod during that time.

'guided plan' so far seems like a good idea, i like having the structure. having a teacher is another good tool for me to run along side other methods because i don't live or work in china... yet!
