Posted on: Guided Plan Gets Better! Plus: Poetry is Pending
January 19, 2009 at 6:56 PMHas anyone any thoughts on the changing Guided Plan. I subscribe to Guided and am so grateful for having Vera as my tutor.
Personally I enjoyed the monthly tests, though weekly sessions were always a good idea in my mind. Weekly sessions are a good balance between having no tutor at all and the Executive Plan. I have changed my subscription to weekly sessions, however my ideal would be a mix of both weekly sessions along with the original monthly test. Saying that, I really shouldn't complain, we have it sooo good here at chinesepod :)

December 17, 2008 at 4:15 PMGreat! Great! Great!
I'm sorry to hear so many of you didn't enjoy this. I liked everything about this video lesson, the simplistic approach, the visuals and definately the great humour.
John, sorry to hear you say this format is coming to an end after only one episode.

December 13, 2008 at 1:03 PMConfucious is in the Chinese blood, 'marraige for the cultivation of virute' its 'significance on sociey/enhancement of (extended) family life' and the like. Even with the younger generation, it's still in there somewhere. And I hope that in some ways it remains there because it produces an inner graciouness that's very unique when it come to relationships.
I think it's this graciousness that prevents the Chinese from expressing an outward 'go get it' approach to dating. Something that Western women in particular have had to really fight for since the sixties, if not before.
Of couse, one isn't better than the other, just completely different.

March 18, 2009 at 9:24 AMThat's a great mnemonic for remembering the tones with 汽车 and 骑车 Ken. Riding a bike, second tone, two wheels. Car, fourth tone, four wheels.
