@reigau - to the download speed. I am in China and it varies a lot...there are days where one lesson has to be "re-downloaded" 10 000 times and there are days when I am surprised with the speed. I don't think it's linked to CPod directly.

About the Mombai...hmm that Chinese name gives me the same associations as Jenny has:))

And I loved the phrase about people dancing on the street.

@tgif

In my experience of learning Chinese, also from attending theory of military classes and other classes, therms are the hardest to grasp for me...so I rather make a full use of this lesson:) Probably depends on a person.

@tgif

continuing pete's, jenny's and matt's comments:)

Attending the army is not compulsory in China, but almost at each level (I heard even about primary school) students undergo a military training. Excluding the classes about Marxism/Maoism/3 delegates/reforms of Deng Xiao Ping a class "Theory of war (军事理论)is also a must in the University!

Remind yourself the info's about ever-growing China's military budget.

As well..looking from geo-political perspective. Open Google Earth, turn the globe that China will be right in front of you and look closely...In this region of Earth China is the key country...look at the bordering countries like India, North Korea, Pakistan...and think a while what would happen if.... I am not going to discuss internal geo-political issues, leaving it for you to figure out (also it might be not very appropriate on a public forum). I guess war topic always will be important in this country and this lesson seems very in place:))

Thanks for the geography tour too:)) I love geographical lessons:)

While listening to this class I reminded myself 军事理论 - the class I took last year at the Uni:))
