One person's post on CP won't change what the government blocks, especially when you consider that certain unoffensive websites, like IMDB, are blocked as well.

Are there specific words that Chinese use, in a stock market for example, that are clearer or more distinct than 买 and 卖?

I agree with you, but if you have that mindset, then you'll need to correct nearly every English speaker who says feng shui or espresso incorrectly.

我知道很多人就说来自英语的词语《VPN》,不过也可以说虚拟私人网络,对吧?

请修改我的错误。

I do have to say that the opposite often happens as well in China. I still find that if I'm with a number of North Americans who can speak Mandarin Chinese to at least an intermediate level of fluency and a couple locals whose English may not be as good (or more importantly, have not had the opportunity to live abroad and practice the language), it's still difficult to get the North Americans to speak Mandarin. People say it's pretentious or silly when two North Americans use Mandarin to communicate, when they could just use English.

Once I was with a Dutch friend who ran into a Dutch friend of his whom I did not know. The two spoke in English for a couple minutes until I asked them why they were speaking in English. My friend said that as they are capable of communicating in English and Dutch, it would be impolite of them to isolate me from the conversation.

John does a fantastic job of making difficult grammar accessible to learners of all levels, without being condescending to new learners or dumbing material down for high level learners. I know other people have mentioned this before, but it's worth repeating.
