My feeling is that Mandarin may be a more liberal in the application of this word. However, if you're describing a body of water that accumulates on the side of the road, that would be a 水坑. My dictionary mentions specifically that 水坑 is 路上的. As for 水池, perhaps pool or pond is a better translation.

用中文我们叫那个马丁・路德・金的演说《我有一个梦想》。I believe in that case 梦想 can mean hope or aspiration as well, so using 有 is acceptable.

请修改我的错误。

When one strings a lot of these flukes together, you have fluency, or at least something approximating it.

Is it proper to say 我马上去 if I'm not physically moving to go do something?

Do native Chinese speakers find certain tone groupings just as interesting, like in the case of 初级、中级、高级? For me, as a non-native speaker, stuff like that helps a lot with memorization.

I liked Jenny's "baby formula" comment. Hearing stuff like that helps me a lot when it comes to translating, and I realized that I don't know how to translate the second or third meaning of a word. Anyway, I think baby formula would be 婴儿奶粉或配方奶粉.
