Just putting the link to, for example, Firefox, Chineseperakun, and pinyin-converter would be harmless to Chinesepod. I would also like you to add a note such as “Put pinyin, if you please (or as much as possible?)” on newbie and elementary lesson pages. I believe that it would considerably save poddies’ time and energy. As jwosmun says, it is always going to be this way.

May 12, 2008 at 1:40 PM今天中国发生了大地震，我妈妈看到了这条新闻一定会为我操心。时间已经不早了，所以我明天早上就给家里打个电话， 让我的老妈放心。我住在中国东北地区，可是连广州发生的事故灾害都让她十分担心。 儿子在中国哪个地方都没关系，中国发生什么我妈妈就担心什么。中国还是离日本很远啊！

May 12, 2008 at 7:17 AM一九七六年唐山大地震的规模约有里氏震级八度， 这大概相当于一九二三年发生的日本关东大地震。 唐山悲剧的三年之后中国政府才透露灾害的真相， 死亡数竟有二十四万多人这数目十分震撼全世界。 但有人说真实的死亡数据会达到五十万或六十万， 无论怎样唐山大地震就是二十世纪最大地震灾难。 专家说大大加重唐山灾情的原因主要有三个方面。 首先是传统砖造建筑物一旦发生地震就容易坍塌。 其次是地震发生在凌晨所以人人都还在屋里睡觉。 第三是救灾能力不足而且政府拒绝国际社会援助。 一九七十年发生的云南省通海大地震夺去了超过 一万五千条生命但是政府隐瞒了真实情况三十年， 到了两千零零年有关通海地震的消息才允许报道。 不幸的是两场大地震都发生在文化大革命的时期， 当时中国当局就没有积极支援灾区的能力和气氛， 据说救灾物质主要是毛主席语录等精神上的援助。 共产党对自然灾害信息公开的态度最近有所改善， 社会从封闭走向开放当然是一种无可避免的趋势。 但从中国政府过去对艾滋病非典型肺炎禽流感等 瘟疫的政策和做法来讲我就认为还有改善的余地。 缅甸遭受强台风袭击的新闻令人感到深深的悲哀， 与此同时缅甸军事政府不愿意接受国际社会援助 并且中国政府支持这种政策的消息让人感到无奈。 死亡人数可能会达到好几十万人别再让历史重演!
