做个父亲真不容易,孩子总是让我操心,就像我小时候一样不听话!

Hi John

Many thanks! Looks like there is always a gray zone in any language.

Hi go_manly

“几” (some) is not a measure word. "Which types" is a correct translation of “哪几种”, namely, “哪” (which) + “几” (-s) + 种 (type-). “哪种” is short for “哪一种”, and it means "which type", but not "which types".

Incidentally, which is correct English, "what types" or "which types" ?

Looks like I should have been more specific.... Incidentally, I didn't know there is also “卖好” in Chinese, but come to think of it, there is no wonder, since commodity is not only for "buying" but also for "selling", hehe.

P/S. 《现代汉语词典》 defines “卖好” as “用手段向别人讨好”, and “买好” as “故意讨人喜欢”. Umm, both seem to be the same. Probably the part “用手段” indicates “恩を売る”.....(?)

Your online dictionaries are right. “买好(儿)” (as one word, but not as “V + 好了” pattern) means "to ingratiate oneself" or “讨人喜欢”. The 好(儿) is a noun, and this indicates "praise, compliment". The same is true for “讨好”. Actually, there is a similar expression in Japanese, i.e. "歓心を買う", which literally means "buy favor".

Probably "a close talker" is not a big issue in Chinese culture, so there is no counterpart in Chinese. Just a joke, hehe.

Hi putu 保障 (bao3zhang4) usually means "to protect rights, properties, lives, and so on", while 保证 means "guarantee, keep one's word, promise, assure, bet on".
