One of my Chinese friends lives in 义乌 (yi2wu1), zhejiang , where there is no steam heatning system. She told me before that her electricity bill is several hundred RMB a month all the year around due to the air conditioner.

How much does the electricity usually cost a month? That is a big headache for local people. Just for the record, my monthly electric bill is only 70RMB in summer and 100RMB in winter.

My apartment, about 120 square meters (a bit too large for me and a dog), is equipped with steam heating system, and its bill is about two thousand and a few hundred RMB a year. I'm in northeast China (中国东北).
