I was really surprised when I saw ads for the NFL on the trains here in Shanghai. Almost every time im on it, you get the latest highlights on the little screens that they have. Of course I enjoy it, but its seems so out of place. Im curious to know what are cities are being hit by NFL marketing. Beijing, HK, Taipei, Singapore??

Phil, they do have the same name in fact. However, due to a large marketing push by the NFL, most will think of American football when they hear 橄榄球 (gǎnlǎnqiú). We have a lesson coming out tomorrow about the NFL in China actually.

tvan the amount of Russian made planes still flying the friendly skies of China are pretty rare. If you happen to get on a prop plane, you may encounter one, but outside of the military, they are nearly non-existant. Funny you mention this, as I was just on a Russian prop plane days ago while island hopping in the Philippines. Scariest flight ever...hands down. I will have to post a pic of something that you would most likely NEVER see on an airplane anywhere else.

This lesson came about with me telling Pasden about my on court experiance playing some basketball here in Shanghai. After a guy went up and I stuff the ball back down on him, he called foul on me . I was trying to call him out with what i thought was the equivalent of "BS", but I ended up getting a chuckle, as I was basically saying No S#!& I thought there was some need in clarification of proper Feihua usage.

Henning, did you happen to check out Chinatown in Honolulu? Its pretty good. Streets in Chinese and everything. But yeah, Japanese reigns supreme there.
