November 15, 2007 at 3:06 AMandytilia "afraid to admit it to himself" is tough for this texan to understand, but If your meaning is that you know you are wrong, but you keep telling yourself otherwise, than the following would grasp that idea. 他自己不敢承认 （tā zìjǐ bùgǎn chéngrèn） or 他自己害怕承认 （tā zìjǐ hàipà chéngrèn） literally: He himself not dare to admit & He himself scared to admit Now go out there and tell yourself the truth.

November 15, 2007 at 2:52 AMawfeihu 他是头脑 (tāshìtóunǎo) will not take take on the same meaning in Chinese like it does in English, however you can pull off your other sentence, 他有头脑 (tāyǒutóu), but you better throw in the hěn 很 just before the 有 (yǒu) to sound natural.
