October 25, 2007 at 2:17 AMgoulniky, best way to express "subtle" is by negating the word for obvious， which is 明显 míngxiǎn. here is an example 如果你想夸你老板，你应该不要太明显 (rúguǒ nǐ xiǎng kuā nǐ lǎobǎn，nǐ yīnggāi bùyào tài míngxiǎn) If you want to flatter your boss, don't be so obvious.
