I've given up on "remove" and just use "mark as studied" for get it off my lesson list on the phone. And I never mark as studied the lessons I actually study, because I want them to stay in the list for review.

The real problem is that two distinct distinct concepts have intermixed controls. One is study management, and the other is display management.

In this Expansion sentence:

普通朋友的话,你包个五百块意思一下就行了。

pԃtōng péngyou dehuà, nǐ bāo ge wԃbǎi kuài yìsi yīxià jiù xíng le。

If you're just normal friends, putting 500 kuai in an envelope is enough to express your well

wishes

Instead of 意思一下 can you say 意思意思 and would it mean the same?

Thanks.

I have a question about 掰 vs. 剥.  In these two Expansion sentences, could you swap 掰 and 剥 and both of the sentences still mean the same?

yòuzi tài dà le, wǒ bāi bu kāi。
The grapefruit is too big. I can't peel it.

chī xiā de shíhou, xiān bǎ xiā ké bō diào。

When you eat shrimp, take the shells off first

E.g.

柚子太大了,我掰不开 mean the same as 柚子太大了,我剥不开

tāmen de hūnshāzhào pāi de hěn yԁu gèxìng。

Their wedding photos are very individualistic.

How does 婚纱照 break down?  My dictionary gives 纱 as 'yarn' or 'gauze'.  Thanks.

Yes, it's easier than any Intermediate I've worked through, not just the dialog but also the Expansion sentences.

Question on this Expansion sentence:

这双靴子是在大减价的时候买的,只要两百块。
zhè shuāng xuēzi shì zài dàjiǎnjià de shíhou mǎi de, zhǐ yào liǎngbǎi kuài。

I bought this pair of shoes during the big sale. They were only 200 RMB.

Can 靴子 refer to any kind of shoes, or only boots?

Thanks. Now, then let me ask it a different way, which person is being described? In the sentence, is it the person cursing who is 凶, or the 女的 who is 凶 ?

In the Expansion, there is this sentence.

I think the Chinese means "How come you are always changing girlfriends?" which can also be said as "Why are you always changing girlfriends?".  But as a native English speaker I wouldn't expect to hear "How are you always changing girlfriends?".
