I often hear and use mei3 tian1

for things like everyday I practice mandarin.

我每天都练习普通话。

But maybe because I use mei3 tian1 I'm not listening for

tian4 tian4

In the beginning I didn't want to memorise two different

words for the same meaning.

I'm not 100% sure if they are interchangeable. Ill let the experts answer that.

But I've also learnt that I can't always rely on the dictionary either.

Just because pleco says this is how you say it, no ones using it....

I ask my girlfriend to double check or ask a native.

Hey guys. Ive only just now started using a vpn. I cant believe it took me this long. I can now surf the net freely. 

I couldnt work out how i could use my iphone and ipad to surf with a vpn and then it came to me. "Surely there must be vpn apps." doh and there are. 

Im using Onavo Protect 

its free and works well on the ipad. So happy i can use facebook and youtube again and whatever ekse doesnt want to work from china. Hope this helps someone.

why is it

and not

我要送我的男朋友生日礼物。

Are they both correct?

Hi guys. Thanks for a great lesson. Loven it. Been to a few hospitals and its very difrerent to what im used to thats for sure. I may be a wuss but i will say my worst nightmare is having to need a hospital here. Dental and whatever else i will have done in Australia. In Australia it seems we care much about privacy. Like when you go to see a doctor its just you and him in a room. If he needs to examine you, you can be assured no one who is not a doctor or nurse is going to be watching whats going on. Its funny i prefer little things about australia but overall i like China better i think. The culture here is so interesting.
