Anyway, why do people in America have such hangups about politicians' extra-marital relationships. Take the newly elected French President, François Hollande. He had an over 30-year relationship with Segolène Royal, the Socialist presidential candidate in 2007 and, inspite of having 4 children together, they never got married. In 2005 Hollande began an affair with Valérie Trierweiler, a twice-divorced journalist with Paris Match, while still living with Royal. François Hollande then dumped her for Trierweiler 3 years ago and now SHE is the official French First Lady and they aren't even married to each other!!!

June 13, 2012 at 8:29 AMNot all opera singers these days are "大块头”。The German Tenor Jonas Kaufmann is very tall, extremely handsome and aristocratic looking. Rolando Villazon (Mexico) and Juan Diego Florez (Peru) are both slightly built, and the list goes on. On the soprano front, we have Angela Gheorghiu (Rumanian), Renée Fleming, Barbara Bonney, Anna Netrebko (Russian) etc. These divas are all beautiful and slim/well proportioned.
Of course there are the occasional stereotyped “大块头” as well.
Love the lesson, maybe you could do one on the Chinese pianist Lang Lang in the future. Thanks!

March 25, 2012 at 7:07 AM对的！ 不过现在讲得不太好， 会听。我在曼谷小学读了四年繁体中文，后来就转到英语学校。pasa tai diao nee pood mai koi dee.
我四年前在布鲁塞尔 （Brussels) 的一个语言学院开始学习汉语，但是老师是比利时人，所以进步得很慢。我的兄弟姐妹都笑我，说中国人跟外国人学汉语怎么会有好的效果！ 两年前一个日本同学给我介绍了Chinesepod，从此我就每天上网学习中级，高中级，有时候也试试看高级。
我有一个大问题：我的父母是南方人，在泰国的华侨朋友都是广东人，所以我不习惯转石头，现在年纪大了，坏习惯的确很难改！

谢谢今天的数字成语 － 非常有意思！ 你们跟我的 ’username' 闹笑话。我的中文名字实在是 ‘韩碧华’。1954 年我们一家人从上海移民到了曼谷。那时还没有‘拼音’ 所以后来在泰国办居留手续的时候，不知道谁给我的名字翻译成 'Han Pih Hwa'。 一直到现在 “I'm stuck with that spelling." 当然我也取了一个英文名：是 Jennifer. 虽然在比利时住了已经有二十八年了，不过在我的身份证，护照等等上，还是用 ‘Han Pih Hwa’。
