Hi, as Mark mentions -- the media link is broken.

I've raised this issue before with media lessons.

What is the point of doing a media lesson if the link to the media resource is just going to be broken at some point in the future?

The simple solution is for cpod to use collective commons media resources or get permission to reproduce the text, and put the text on their website.

As is, there are many wasted media lessons, once the link gets broken.

Anyone at cpod ever listen ?

serious question - how often do use "foreigner" or something like "laowai" in English? Is it always in a neutral way? Do you always ask your workmates if you want to "invite some foreigners to lunch", in English? Listen up Foreigner - here is a list of dumb terms that perpetuate multicultural wastelands...

Seriously cpod?

I had to stop listening.

Just reminded me that no one does mindless discrimination and racism like.... not worth mentioning....?

My "favourite" foreigner greeting was from a cab driver in rural Shandong, who casually mentioned : "幸好你不是日本还是黑人"

Last time I flew back to my home country I was reminded just how neutral waiguoren was. Leaving China -- "foreign passport holders this line". Entering home country -- "all other passport holders this line".

呵呵以前我听说过第三声表示温柔性情,第四声表示没有耐心性情...

我老婆来自北京,她总是用第四声...(^_^)

We discussed this previously, darkstar, and I listed these out then as well.

It would be better if there were more than 3 or 4, don't you think ?

once again, you miss the whole substance of the point I am trying to make..

excellent!

I often think cpod would be better if they just had a comprehensive word list on a topic and then just spoke naturally, or had a conversation, using these key words as guides (and making sure they don't miss super relevant words for a topic, particularly at the higher levels). Then just write up the transcript after.

I can think of a number of dialogues where complementary words just inexplicably get left out.

How can you not include the word carbohydrate in a lesson life this, even in the supp?

Any chance of a do over, or a UI lesson with more terms?

Also interesting stat - in the US past 30 years, fat consumption has decreased by 11%, but number of overweight people increased 30 percent.
