Everytime i walk into a restaurant and the waiter asks me 几位吗 i fell i´m being a bit arrogant by using the 位 in my answer (两位/三位)

I feel as if saying i´m a 位  and not a 个  implies i´m someone in a high position, someone you should respect etc

Is it okay to answer with 位 even if you are talking about yourself?

Your Chinglish was hilarious! I do the same all the time by mixing Japanese(my husband´s mother tongue) and Spanish (my mother tongue) We call it NIPEIN-GO ( “Ja-panish”) and through the years is has become a completely different language that nobody else can understand!! ^   ^    The thing is that when you get used to talking like this, you kind of forget your friends can´t understand you!!

I was studying in Shanghai Normal University for about 8 months, and what struck me the most was that students would sleep in class without even trying to hide from the teacher. Even the ones sitting at the first row! I have to say my classmates weren’t Chinese, so i´m not sure if the same thing would happen in a totally Chinese environment. They came from Korea, Japan, Indonesia, and Thailand…

One thing a bit difficult to get used to was the fact that nobody ever asked any question to the teacher. If they didn’t understand something, they would just wait till the teacher is gone and ask each other.

Sometimes the teacher would asked us 明白了?听得懂吗?but no one would answer…I kind of felt sorrow for those 老师s…and also a bit embarrassed to be the only one asking and answering questions L

Wow! I was looking forward to this one! I "witnessed" the recording of this lesson, and no one could have guessed it was JP´s first QING WEN!

Amber, Connie, JP, it was so nice meeting you!
