June 13, 2008 at 5:57 PMActually what makes mosquitos like you is if your skin is healthy, your skin makes a kind of acid (forgot the name) that the mosquitos can "smell", all you poor healthy people. lol
Also I noticed the Chinese mosquitos are tiny compared to the U.S.
Someone I know accidentally touched one of those "mosquito racket" things, apparently it hurt a lot and his finger was numb for a while O_O

Posted on: Fortunate Cookies
June 12, 2008 at 10:00 PMActually fortune cookies were originally made in the U.S by a Japanese man living in California that during world war II did not want to have a "Japanese" tea house, but a "Chinese" one to avoid being persecuted by anti Japanese Americans.
Fortune cookies were created by him to serve along with tea (the paper fortunes inside were added later.)

June 12, 2008 at 9:10 PMThanks for this lesson!
I really like that people get to talk about all of this and connect. I dont care if its off topic as long as it has something to do with China or 中文!
Everybody lighten up!~ ^_^
Also a really good Chinese/English dictionary called Nciku is: http://www.nciku.com/
I highly recommend it to all levels of Cpod users! You can even "draw" a character and find out what it is if you cant read it.

June 6, 2008 at 5:32 AMDear Amber is always so informative, I love hearing whats happening from people that are actually in China (that are not connected to CNN)
And I am so frustrated with people that wont take the time to get their facts straight about whats actually happening, making uneducated comments about China.

May 20, 2008 at 2:51 AMwow, I have to say the dialog sounded very real, almost like a clip from a movie. How about with no chicken? (just kidding) lol Is it hard to a vegetarian in China?
Posted on: Chinese Music Taste and Registering with the Police
May 17, 2008 at 2:35 PMThanks for this lesson, I would have had no idea that I had to register with the police (especially within 24 hours!) You should have more topic like this, and what kind of things you need to do upon getting to china. My favorite Chinese singers are Lee Hom Wang, Faye Wong, David Tao and Jay Chou! (S.H.E. is good also)
