How funny, I also made 麻婆豆腐 for my flatmate last night. (Except 我没有放肉因为我吃素)。 One thing that confused me on menus at first was the measurement 两 often used with dumplings since I thought it just meant "2" of something. In fact 一两饺子 is a fixed weight of dumplings and usually works out at about 6. Saying 两两 would just be weird so 12 dumplings is 二两饺子。 Clear as mud! 哈皮牛易尔!

Emberswift: I think 放屁 is the vocab you're looking for. Interesting to see some of the animal noises. Could we have some more examples? Cats, dogs, frogs, sheep, horses, cows?

又duplicated啦! goulniky: 白啤酒是以大麦用小麦作的。 我住在上海的时候C's bar最便宜:10块一杯 :-)

How about: "Please hold, your call is important to us." The BT customer service helpline has had me screaming things a little stronger than 去你的 recently. On the subject, what's the deal with the 的 in the above and TMD etc. Is it really indicating possession or does it just work as a modifier making the expression a bit stronger?
