As Amber says, it works mostly to add emphasis and will probably be paired with another word: 我们两都喜欢唱卡拉OK (here both, not all) 在英格兰谁都非常喜欢喝红茶 (here everyone) 我霉天都听Chinesepod (here every) I had trouble with that one for a while too ...

February 10, 2008 at 11:46 AMCasie, just a guess here but I think we'd say "I'm folding my clothes" or "I'm putting my clothes away". If you've just washed them or are just about to wash them then we call them "laundry" instead of "clothes". Hence: "I'm folding the laundry" or "I'm putting the laundry away".

February 7, 2008 at 12:15 PMWhen I started learning, I found sentences really frustrating as I tried to pronounce each tone correctly. The biggest step in terms of fluency was ignoring everything but the 4th tone. That way it works a bit like stress points in an English sentence. When speaking fast, Chinese people don't pronounce tones on every single word anyway but the 4th tone tends to be the most prominent. I probably wouldn't be popular with the 北京语言学院 suggesting this, but it worked wonders for me!

February 25, 2008 at 10:39 PM我每一次出伦敦都很想念伦敦吃的东西。这里每个国家的风味都有：法国餐，中国餐，日本餐，意大利餐，印度餐。我估计伦敦也是世界上最好找素食的城市。炸鱼和暑条在伦敦又贵得不得了又不怎么好吃。如果想吃那些东西应该去海边。
