September 17, 2008 at 5:46 AMI'd like to have a lesson about reviewing a proposal. My impression is that Chinese are more indirect about critizing someone's ideas, and I think some guidance about where the line between polite and impolite lies would be useful.
I also think the line depends on roles. A boss has much more latitude, but a co-worker or subordinate has a different line.
Maybe, Juliette could think the new idea is hopeless. How does she say this, and to whom?

September 1, 2008 at 1:53 AMI always like these somewhat specialized topics. I makes me feel like the range of things I can communicate about in Chinese is being expanded. I had a similar feeling about the lesson on the 80/20 rule, but I didn't post about that lesson.
