May 6, 2009 at 2:08 PM@tgif Thanks for your contribution.
War is horrible and I am lucky to have not yet exprienced it (fingers crossed). Violent video games are insanely popular, I don't mind some of them myself (although I never have the time).
Anybody care to share their favourite strategy genre games with us? Maybe Uncle Changye will help translate the titles into Chinese :)

May 6, 2009 at 1:56 PM@zhangdawei Thanks for bringing up this point. I asked several of my young Chinese colleagues whether or not this sitution was realistic. They said that employees would definitely give the boss their reasons for being late. That being said, it's unlikely so many people would be late for one meeting - that was for theatrics.
Can I hazard a guess, no disrespect intended - your teacher may be middle aged and hasn't been on the mainland in a working position for quite some time? :-)

May 4, 2009 at 2:30 AM@punter888 You are talking about the
Full Lesson (M4V for iPhone, 27.56mb) link right?
I just tried it and it worked fine with a left click. If you are wanting to load it onto your iphone, I'd recommend either right clicking and select 'save file as' in order to save it on your hard drive then copy over to you iphone in itunes. Or you could subscribe to the ChinesePod RSS feed and download it through itunes, instructions are here: http://chinesepod.com/help/faq#74.
If you continue to have difficulties, don't hesitate to PM me. :)

"They are said to be created when a person's soul (魄 pò) fails to leave the deceased's body, due to improper death, suicide, or just wanting to cause trouble."

April 30, 2009 at 4:59 AMThis is what I made for dinner last night. @miantiao has eaten an earlier version of it at my place - but this is the perfected version:

ROLL MOUSE OVER CHARACTERS FOR PINYIN POPUPS
I put in half a handful of 花椒 Sichuan Pepper corns and 6 or 7 干辣椒 dried chillies from 安徽 Anhui into the hot 花生油 peanut oil, the added the thinly sliced 莴笋 Chinese Asparagus Lettuce (aka Celtuce), followed by a light sprinkling of 糖sugar, 盐 salt, 香油 sesame oil, 老陈醋 Chen vinegar, and a酱油 drop or two of soy sauce. Yum!!!

April 30, 2009 at 3:24 AM@user23060 It's fixed. Marco designed the pdf for this series, but our chief uploader must have forgotten this. So she thought the auto generated pdf kept disappering and thus regenerated and re-uploaded the standard file. We had a laugh this morning about the vicious cycle we just barely avoided. Suffice to say the intended pdf is once again available for download - and will stay that way! YAY!
Keep those dish/street food names coming! :)
