I don't understand what you are referring to when you say that users were complaining about the difficulty of lessons. I don't recall many such complaints.

And my bet is that they are on holiday - Dragon Boat Festival you know

Off the top of my head it's a fan (as in a football fan)

Yes, people spitting out bones at the table is part of the wonderful Chinese eating experience!

Having a plate full of debris can also happen in Western style restaurants - eating sea food for example.

Vera's explanation of the 了 was again interesting and unusual.

The closest I can think of in English for 请慢用 colloquially would be 'Take your time'

Actually some Chinese people I know do use the small plate for food

I have never worn a cap in UK to go swimming. I am male with shortish hair. I have a feeling that you should wear a cap if you have long hair...

I heard something new in this lesson about 了。  When asked what function it performed, Vera says 'to remind'.  I have never heard this said before!

Perhaps you are far more perceptive and discriminating than me, as I have not noticed that Chinesepod vowels are different to 'standard vowels'. What in particular are you referring to (apart from 后鼻音 and 前鼻音)?

Very useful lesson.  This has been a nagging puzzle for me for a long time.  I would have liked a few more examples of the 势 words though.

It seems that the other meaning of 形势 ie 地形 is terrain, which I dont think Tom said explicitly.

I have been a sometime vociferous opponent of background music. Jenny once responded and said her view was that 'it gives the show a bit of life'. However in this case on my laptop the background music is very faint and not too distracting. Perhaps different devices result in differing volumes.
