Salut de l'angleterre, aussi en ce moment ensoleillé.

Toi, Mark et moi nous avons ici une longue ancienneté, n'est-ce pas?

I think if you can understand this lesson you will be fine in understanding the chat in the advanced lessons. For the dialogue you always have the help of the transcript to fall back on. 加油

The leaver doesn't use 欢送会 but says 派对。  There seem to be other words for a party such as 聚会, which are not taken from English.  Does 派对 have different connotations?

If the leaver has not been particularly senior or longserving, the custom in the UK is for the leaver to invite everybody to the pub for a drink, rather than the company doing the organising.  His/her colleagues will collect money for a leaving present and the leaver buys the drinks.

His/her boss will give a speech usually with some humour in it.  The leaver will then reply again often with humour.

I am outside of China in England. I haven't noticed teasing from Chinese people (but maybe I have missed it!). But sometimes the English do so ...

I have been trying hard to find a better translation for 心理暗示 than 'psychological suggestion' as in the pdf. I have come up with 'That's a bad influence' as something we might say colloquially here. A closer literal translation might be ' subversive influence'.

I think Jenny uses the term 八卦 in two completely different ways. The first time I think she is referring to the Book of Changes 《易经》 whereas the second time she is meaning 'gossip' as the pdf has it. Have I misunderstood?

I can't understand what Jenny says at 4:36. Almost sounds like EAyan?? 。。。。都会知道有EAyan 这个概念

No! It's not the same. You example uses a measure work 杯, whereas this expression does not say 几张桌。

Thank you. That is interesting. I don't use a Mac but I will see if there is some equivalent way with Microsoft. I wonder why Chinesepod doesn't do it though to save us the trouble.

If they did, that would get over the problem that the link gets out of date.
