August 8, 2009 at 5:50 PMAprilwhite, sounds like you went to the wrong places for food - next time try the hawker centres. Cheap and cheerful.

August 7, 2009 at 6:20 PMquasifrog, the majority of posts above are not by staff, but by users, and they are under no obligation to write pinyin in upper intermediate discussions. I use Adsotrans if I need pinyin.

July 22, 2009 at 10:27 PMLight, there are definitely some easy intermediates. And some hard ones. But there are a lot more easier intermediates than there used to be, I think. Go back to the era of beauty pageants - I find those hard!

July 22, 2009 at 7:29 PMI am curious about this 撒娇 sa1jiao1 business - is it like the whole "love/hate" thing that you can have with people, or is a different concept to that?

July 19, 2009 at 9:51 PMOK guys, I get it, I've been doing some digging around to get what I think is a difinitive answer. 到 is optional. So 我去中国 and 我到中国去 are interchangeable, and similarly 我回到英国来/我回英国来。How confusing.

July 19, 2009 at 11:32 AMChangye,
So the difference between 回美国来 and 回到美国来 is "come back to America" and "arrived back in America [speaker in America]"?
I imagine I'm being royally thick here.

July 19, 2009 at 9:48 AMHi Changye,
So 回到美国 means "towards America"? And 回到美国去/来 means "going/coming towards America"?
That seems odd.
