August 16, 2011 at 2:22 AMThis seems like a useful expression:
现在比刚才. I am guessing that it could be used in many situations.

August 16, 2011 at 1:50 AMIn the US parents vary greatly on this, I think. Long before mobile phones, some families had a second telephone for the children. But most will probably show some interest. As the suspicious mother here, few parents would fall for the line "we were discussing a math problem" :)

June 21, 2011 at 2:00 AMI think it primarily affects the order of the search results, rather than the number of hits.
I remember once searching for Teavana (seller of tea in the US), and for several days their ads kept appearing in various web pages that I was viewing (that related to genealogy). I found it a little spooky, or at least annoying.

June 21, 2011 at 12:31 AMI read recently that the results of Google searches can differ for each individual. This is because Google tries to give you the information that they think you want, based on previous searches, and whatever else they might know about you.

August 16, 2011 at 2:44 AMI was familiar with this pattern: 放在---上
but I noticed these variations in the expansion, with different verbs used with the 在 and 了 always following the 在 (contrary to my expectation)
落在了出租车上
花在了旅行上
放在了书架上
