February 4, 2011 at 12:58 AMWhile I was in China I noticed that my NBA bookmark was automatically redirected to the Chinese language version of nba.com. I guess that shows the level of interest in the NBA among people in China.

February 2, 2011 at 3:45 AMI think he sat out all of last year. This year he was playing limited minutes, but still injured himself. Perhaps his career is over. Or maybe wait another year or two and come back like Bill Walton.

January 26, 2011 at 1:30 AMThere is the saying that anything processed by human memory is fiction. :)
The book by Wood was very interesting. I have also read, in recent years, the Travels of Marco Polo. I was disappointed that it told so little of his day to day experiences in China. It told of his travels to interesting places in China, where people had unusual habits, etc. But of course, he told his stories many years after they occurred, and did so while in captivity.

Is this a common saying in Chinese? It has a nice rhythm.

January 19, 2011 at 3:59 AMI could rearrange the sentences, but there was a slight difference from the actual dialogue. This sentence appeared only once:
对不起,您拨的是外地移动用户。请在号码前加拨"0"。
A new sentence replaced it in one instance:
她说什么?
So it still made sense.

February 6, 2011 at 3:19 AMThis sentence :
等到你买了房子,我们再结婚。
is translated as "Once we've bought a house, let's get married.", which does not match the 汉字。你 买了rather than 我们买了.
In modern day Shanghai is it more likely that a woman would say "Once you have bought a house.." or "once we have bought a house.." ?
