May 15, 2011, 02:31 PMMost maps use a Mercator projection (sphere onto a cylinder, then unroll the cylinder). That makes Alaska look huge. I think China has more mountainous and desert area than the US. It would be interesting to compare the two at the coastal level or big city level.

June 03, 2013, 12:53 PMI agree with wenjong -- I think washroom is more neutral and polite. It's also easier to say. A lot of Chinese will also recognize "WC". So 说”洗手间“ 比 “厕所” 容易。Plus you can make a motion like you are washing your hands when saying "xǐ shǒu jiān".
