In order to translate "ground", how about 地上很有雪。

The podcast says 其实 is always an adverb. But it seems to me it is often used like a conjunction, like 但是. In fact it seems to me "actually" kind of means "but" or "however". But I'm not sure about the definition of a conjunction. I'm thinking of an online example I found:

他看起来很壮,其实身体不好。

Is this the same as:

他看起来很壮,但是身体不好。

I just looked for examples online and you are right. All the examples for 婚礼 refer to the wedding and all the examples for 婚姻 refer to the union.

Interesting. I hadn't heard 婚姻 before. What is the difference between it and 婚礼?

In the podcast a question is answered with 不是的. Can we use this to answer "no" to any question in the same way as 是的 is used to answer "yes". Also, do we need the 的?

svenverelst, may I ask what you are up to? You have made scores of comments in the last week, and they all look indecipherable to me. Maybe I am missing something.

In the dialogue the measure word used with shíjiān is ge.

Could duàn () be used here instead?
