December 26, 2014 at 5:53 PMIMO CPOD Should revisit 私募基金 and more accurately depict what it is (per Romontana's description) --- Chinese terms for "highly levered," "carried interest," "dry powder" (uninvested capital that's been raised by the fund), "operational improvements," "financial engineering" and "take private" (buying up a listed/public company and delisting it) would be great to hear. The discussion could center on U.S. megacap funds active in China vs. local players, the somewhat recent resumption of Chinese IPOs and their importance to PE funds returns or an argument about PE's value add (i.e. is it simply financial engineering and not actually operational improvements that create wealth for the economy).
