你好。
我认为：“以为” 和“认为”的区别是，简单说，“以为”是不正确或不准确 的“认为”。
词典的例子：这部电影我以为很有教育意义。隐含未说的意思是“但是看完以后，我觉得没有教育意义”
所以说，词典对“以为”的解释欠妥。正好我在“北大中文论坛"(www.pkucn.com)看到有人讨论这个问题，你不妨看看：

never heard people call them 酸梅，咸梅.
the term" 酸梅“ does exist, but it's something else.like, people like to drink 酸梅汤 in summer。

再比如说 “上楼，下楼”，and 楼上，楼下 mean so differently.（上飞机---飞机上）
上船--上床： really, be careful about that. 我知道有的学习者常常mixed them up in pronunciation

if "I“ ask "你去北京多久了？" means : you're in Beijing while i'm not in beijing ( this explains why it's "去” instead of "来“）and "I" want to know how long have you been in Beijing .
