July 31, 2013 at 10:18 AM老板终于允许我带宠物上班了
Translation is my boss will finally let me take my pet to work.
How do I know that this doesn't mean...my boss finally let me take my pet to work
i.e. future vs. past or is not possible to determine? thanks

July 31, 2013 at 9:28 AM他们终于结束了十年的爱情长跑,结婚了
They finally ended their 10 year long romance and got married
I found this sentence in the expansion rather amusing!!I know the translation is correct but it kind of implies marriage is the death of romance lol!

July 20, 2013 at 9:35 AMAnyone know why some of the countries sound similar to their English names, i.e. transliterations like 芬兰, 挪威 but others are not at all similar.. like 瑞士, 瑞典. Does this mean there were words for these countries in ancient China but not others? Just wondered?! Anyone know?

I want to go back to the things before.
Hi all, expansion says this... but is this just the same as saying'I want to go back to the past'? which sounds a little more natural.
Thanks

July 3, 2013 at 1:15 PM(Who served the ball just now?)
This is in the expansion.. the translation is past tense but there is no 'le' in the characters... i.e. 发了。Is it impossible to work out the tense from just the one sentence? When I read this I though the translation would be "Whose serve is it?" i.e. an event about to happen in the future. Or are both versions correct? Thank you everyone.

July 3, 2013 at 11:03 AMHow would one say satsuma in Chinese? 'juzi' is tangerine and 'chengzi' orange but there doesn't seem to be a separate definition, thanks all
