I can't imagine anyone calling a puppy pitiful in English...?!  The English sounds not incorrect but just something that we wouldn't say.  Maybe this is just a phrase that is lost in translation somewhat..?

Thanks Vera that's useful to know. I also heard that I can use 这to sound more colloquial as well? So instead of saying 你的笔很好 ---> 你这笔很好? 谢谢

in all my time in China, not seen this..! toilets seem to fall in one of three categories in my opinion.. very nice ones (hotel, fancy resturant etc), shocking ones, and then the undescribable ones - so bad I have been unsure how to use them safely lol...!

- Translation is..the air here is very comfortable.. what exactly is meant by this?  The temperature is just right? (in a room/outdoors?)
