Just my two cents, though.
I'm pretty sure you can just say 先. 首先 is like saying "first of all." 先 is like saying "first." At least that's what I think my teacher told me.

这是我关于你们的回答的看法：
解雇意思是“lay off”，换言之，一位雇员没有职位的原因不是因为工作绩效不好，就是因为公司经历了财政困难。
炒鱿鱼意思是“fire”，换言之，一位雇员的工作绩效很坏，所以管理对他说“走开！”
下岗意思像解雇的一样，不过是一般时指得很具体的中国经济发展的时代。
是吗？
