June 20, 2009 at 12:40 PMI went through a few names when I first started learning Chinese. My friends would give me the names of famous people and get a laugh when I would say it out loud.. finally I met someone who put some thought into and came up with 许尘。I think it's suits me well.
To me 白龙 sounds like a name you would give someone who you thought would forget it in a few minutes.. I dunno. Not serious enough or just too cliche....

I think 大哥 sometimes takes on the title of someone in the mafia, kind of like a mob boss of sorts.
I've called my close friends 大哥 before but only before I poked fun at them.. haha.

June 28, 2009 at 5:36 AMPerhaps they tell us in advance so you can do some previewing. As in learn some terms and grammar on your own before the podcast. This would be useful for lessons above your own language level.
For example, a person could easily do a quick search for words related to "interviews" before the lesson comes out. Not to mention if you REALLY wanted something to be included in the podcast you might be able to put a suggestion out there and have it in by the release of the podcast. For example:
CPOD: Please try to included language related to talking about your achievements in the interview podcast.
Thanks alot, if the script is already set then perhaps some useful words in the supplementary vocab would do.
