Your comments about Chinese nationals feeling it is necessary to keep the country together at all costs hit home with me, I don't often bridge political conversation with Chinese people unless they're my close friends. Although many of them aren't in favourable economic postions and feel in many ways they have been wronged by the current government all of them feel it is better to endure and strive to improve than complain. Canadians enjoy complaining about our government and openly insulting them online and in the streets, It's good to be reminded that that isn't possible for everyone.
Also, for the record. I've enjoyed all of your podcasts. But I must say 杜甫 has by far the best Chinese name I've ever heard. Du fu!! Whaa!!!
Great work and thanks again!

May 23, 2009 at 2:22 PMI only posted that comment because you mention 夜市(night market) and it's funny sounding sentence.
A good way to practice tones and similar sounding words.
Your translation seems to be great.

谢谢你的帮助!
我两年前刚开始学习汉语时,我只会说一些粤语的单词,当时我真的分不出粤语和普通话有什么区别,不是差不多吗?因此我到南京的时候我跟他们当地人讲粤语,Lei ho! Mo mon tai!

(Please help me fix my mistakes Shenyajin!!!)
谢谢。

May 26, 2009 at 3:05 AM我曾经听说过,成都的天气很郁闷,很难过。通常天空全是多云的,很少很少遇到晴朗的天气。据说你出门儿发现太阳出来了,你就不用上班,城市任何的商店都会关门,人家要出去好好享受天气。
