March 25, 2019 at 9:57 AMTaizhong and Tainan are cities in Taiwan so i'm afraid they are not interchangeable with ZhongTai and NanTai. However, if you want to say "the northern part of Taiwan", you can say "bei3tai2", the same rule applies to "southern part of Taiwan", "nan2tai2". Just add the direction word before the place!

March 25, 2019 at 9:44 AMWhen we use 多 as an adverb, we can pronounce it as the first tone or the second tone. When it's pronounced as the second tone, It sounds more casual and emotional, and it usually happens when we want to emphasize on "how much".

March 25, 2019 at 8:48 AM上边 and 上面 are interchangeable in this context, the difference is that 上边 is more colloquial and it's more likely that you hear it in northern China. When you combine 上,下,前,后 with 边 or 面, they both mean the same:)

March 25, 2019 at 1:50 AMYes you're right! They are both internet words with interesting origins. 女票 means 女朋友, you might be wondering why they have the same meaning. Just say the word女朋友 really fast, doesn't it sound exactly like 女票? As for 浮云, its literal meaning is "clouds floating in the sky". When something is like "浮云" to you, that means you don't care about it at all, and it can come and go in a blink of an eye, just like the clouds.

March 23, 2019 at 6:34 AMHi Cynthia,
When we want to make an initial judgement of an action or an object, we put a perception verb(look, sound ,taste, feel...) before 起来, which is followed by an adjective.
So in this case, 听(perception verb) + 起来 + 很棒(adjective) means "sounds great". Just like English, you can omit the subject in this kind of sentence structure. The usage of 起 is very interesting, we'll definitely cover this in future lessons!
