April 18, 2010 at 6:18 PMI hope to also learn some Cantonese, Hakka, Sichuanese, Fujianhua(Taiwanese) and/or Toisan (Taishanhua). For those of us living outside of China, these are alot more useful, as these communities are large in number over in North America... sorry... very few people here can speak Shanghainese, and they always know Mandarin very well anyway, so very little opportunity to practice.

April 13, 2010 at 1:10 AMI had a chance to try the 小笼包 when i was in Taizhong in January... we would take a little bite, like Jenny explained, and then let the soup poor into our big spoon... like on your picture bababardwan. I manage to not burn my tongue too much that way.
Have you guys ever tried the original Taiwan 珍珠奶茶 in Taizhong, I mean the place where they invented it? It is AMAZING!!!! They use high quality 铁观音茶 to make it and the bubbles are so QQ!!!
