May 14, 2007 at 2:36 PMHi gaylon, Thanks for bringing up the difference between 的 and 地? I'm always confused with these two. I only ever use 地 to mean floor or place, so its very confusing to see it used like 的. Do you know the exact difference? 谢谢.

May 10, 2007 at 12:22 AMI noticed that the dialog uses 合适 (heshi) to mean suitable. Is this exactly the same meaning as 适合? The phrase 弥补 (mibu) is new to me. Can someone give another example of how to properly use it? Can I say: 你打算怎么弥补你以前做得坏事? to mean "how do you intend to make up for your past misdeeds?" Thanks.

May 9, 2007 at 7:07 AMFrom the way the story is going, it looks more like Liu Xiang is the mastermind behind the whole plot, just to get his old lover back. He probably conspired with Li Li's best friend to encourage Zhang Liang's colleague to seduce Zhang Liang. Liu Xiang owns a network company, giving him the ability to hack into mobile phone communications between Zhang Liang and Lili. Hence he knows exactly when and what to say.

May 9, 2007 at 6:21 AMThis dialog is not too convincing. 1. Lili and her former lover are suddenly too comfortable with each other. Where's the left-over animosity from their past break-up? 2. Liu Xiang begging to get back with his old lover... so uncool. It would have been much better if he acted cool and Lili is the one who gradually falls for him.

May 4, 2007 at 6:26 AMLearning Chinese from songs is really fun. Whenever I find a song I like, I go to Baidu.com to get the lyrics and try to pick up a few phrases. Then try to get my pronunciation right by singing along (usually while driving to/from work to avoid annoying people). Maybe CPod can use more songs for some of the Elementary/Intermediate lessons. kimba, I reckon overall, I find more good Chinese professional male singers compared to female ones. Just my opinion though.
