March 10, 2009 at 11:31 PMThanks for the definitions, though still confusing in some cases. So does it really matter where the verb and the time duration is placed in this particular sentence? I'm more prone to say 我学了中文... rather than 我学了三年...

March 9, 2009 at 11:58 PMHi, I'm retarded and still don't understand the grammer difference between these two sentences. Can someone please explain.
我学了中文三年了
我学了三年的中文了

March 6, 2009 at 7:18 AMErgo was good, though quite confusing at first.
How available is Japanese anime in China nowadays? Do they actually sell it in stores, or is it something you'll have to find on the streets or just download? I know its widely popular and available in Taiwan though.

Samurai Champloo, Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagan, Ghost in the Shell and Berserk are some of my favorites.

January 30, 2009 at 7:12 PMAnyone mind explaining 还是 vs. 还 in the context of this lesson? I know 还是 can be 'or' and 'rather'(as a choice from two different options), but this is the first time I've heard it used just as 'still'. Maybe its just 'rather still'?...

December 23, 2008 at 6:50 AMIn this sentence 你老是这么晚睡觉 is it acceptable to put '才' between 晚 and 睡觉 to emphasize sleeping doesn't occur until late at night? So 你老是这么晚才睡觉.
If not, is there a specific rule for when to use 才(not until) or 就(as early as)?

March 29, 2009 at 5:49 AMMy textbook for class uses the phrase 压坏 to express something or someone being smashed/hurt by being crushed. Can you basically use this with all objects? 我把他的头压坏了...
