August 21, 2014 at 8:11 AMThe second expansion sentence seems out of place as the meaning of 过头 is literal rather than figurative.
Also the first example of 凑 is for a different meaning to that used in the podcast.
Ｉ can't get any audio from the first lot of sentences under the grammar tab.
Interestingly 寝室 does not appear in the vocab or supplementary vocab!

Ryan may be originally from England but his English is heavily Americanised. He says zee not zed, sophomore not second year, either has an ee sound not an 'i' sound, he says Boodism not Buddism and so on. I got a hint from another podcast that he lived in South Korea ....

August 20, 2014 at 3:25 PMIt looks like Pete never got round to correcting this as the phrase is still wrongly translated.
There seems to be many incorrect translations. For example:
嗯，大家为制伏伏地魔做了一系列斗争 is translated as 'Yes, everyone tried so hard to fight off Voldemort and they eventually conquered him' which surely is far too free a translation.
总是 is wrongly translated as sometimes instead of always.
Also the translation of 你这个"麻瓜" is bad English. It should be something like 'You are such a Muggle'

August 18, 2014 at 1:34 PMWow, calling the traffic police to come to the scene of such a minor accident seems like a bad use of their time. Also to expect that the insurance company drops everything and sends someone over seems over the top. Do they really expect this to happen, and how long do they think they are going to wait for these good people to arrive? How long is it going to take for them both to go to the 理赔中心？ Does this really happen? It all seems rather impractical to me.
Some tricky specialist vocabulary though. Guys - A in the dialogue is a lady not a man.

August 21, 2014 at 10:01 AMSadly, early on, Ryan spells 寝室 as 'qing shi' instead of 'qin shi', possibly because Jenny's pronunciation did seem to sound like 请示。
Again as per the first lesson in the series, 寝室 is not in the vocab lists for the lesson.
