First of all I bought a special notebook today just to jot notes about Qing Wen. I think it is a greatshow. Now while I am in Tokyo I use my morning Starbucks stop for time to add to these notes. I love the show. It is informative and what energy. When I was in Taiwan, I would greet the guys when they came into my office in the morning with a big rounded 3rd tone 早 "man" zǎo 'man' A nice merging of East and West. Seemed to work well. My friends would plop down in a chair around my desk, with a cup of tea and a bun and we would talk about what we ate the night before and what were the work plans for the day. I liked the idea of mixing up English and Chinese in the office as the guys (and one woman engineer) always wanted to practice their English as well. So we came up with lots of mixed sentences. Can't wait to see what will work in Singapore. I know the Singaporean people are masters of this. Maybe even Jenny can share a few with us. Mike in Tokyo for one more month

The one place I did see bowing in China (Shanghai) was during a Catholic Mass. At the moment when you are to offer some welcome or sign of peace to your neighbors in America and in Japan often one shakes the hand of the people nearby. It seems in China you put your hands together and bow to the person.

Hi Jenny, Never went away just in a lurking mode as I changed jobs, moved (but not yet permanent) as I am in a very small apartment in Tokyo. Next month I should be moving to Singapore. New job has swamped me so little time for doing much other than keeping up with my daily lesson. Mike soon to be in Singapore

Jenny and John I am surprised no comments, the dialogue content is very good even if you are not a Birkenstock Wearing Vegan into self analysis. I have a question on one of the Expansion sentences. Regarding the sentence about no money is ok but no friends is not. Of course this is true but is this an old saying in Chinese or one that you and the staff made up? If old who said it ? Mike (still not quite) in Singapore

Steve and John are you the proud new parents/ Can't wait to see this little guy grow. I am celebrating with a Gin and Tonic. Just when I thought 'The Fix' was going to absorb all my free time now this! Something will have to give. I guess it will be work. Mike in Singapore (sort of)

CPod HQ I am really loving The Fix. I find for Newbie and Elle's I use it after the dialogue and before the Expansion and Exercises. Whereas for the Intermediates I listen to the dialogue and sometimes just listen to the vocabulary part of The Fix then the Expansion and then go back and listen(participate) to the complete Fix. Not sure how others do it. I have a question or suggestion. Would it be possible to combine all the Newbie's as one super Fix on a monthly base as well as the same for the Elle's, Intermediate...... If at each level I think it would serve as confirmation of the stuff sticking in the memory. I have no idea how much work it would be to do so. Mike (not really in Jubei) but new location coming shortly

Ken Was it a REAL Sound or a REAL Sound Effect. Jenny couldn't possibly produce one of these. Aric can probably do these on cue. Mike in Jubei

Thanks Amber My wife is very particular about her eggs. When we stay at the Jing An Hotel(which is very nice btw) the breakfast buffett has a chief that cooks eggs right there. She knows better and lets my wife cook her own. I guess that is one way to solve the problem. Mike in Jubei
