Thanks for confirming that.

It seems to be a clever way to go metric.

In the expansion sentences, the rollover for 斤 jīn, it is defined as roughly one-half kilogram.  Isn't it exactly one-half kilogram? (and so, about one pound)

On the pinyin chart-mac version, I find that the first tone "xu" sounds very much like first tone "qu".

Not so for the other tones of "xu".

I have had this chart for awhile, but just can across this one today.

刷 is also used for brushing teeth, I think.

刷呀 shuā yá

@cassielin

Our cards at 浙江大学食堂 zhè jiāng dà xué shí táng (university cafeteria) were read by placing them on a device that showed your money remaining.  The food worker then punched in how much your meal cost.  There was no swiping!

No one has clarified the expansion sentence containing

niú nǎi xǐ zǎo

Is that some kind of spa or salon treatment?

I'll pass :)

The expansion has this sentence:

他约你了吗? tā yūe nǐ le ma?

"Has he asked you on a date?"

Can this also be used for appointments that are not "dates"?

Also, in the dialog, 5th line:

我怎么就联系不到你了?

There is no rollover for 联系 lián xì

When my wife and I were getting sick in Beijing earlier this year, the hotel shuttle bus driver told us: 喝白开水,不要喝茶!he1 bai2 kai1 shui3, bu4 yao4 he1 cha2!

That is good advice.  But "cold" in China is always a fun topic.

Minor corrections: in the expansion it says

How is it possible that you don't know him? (should be her).

In exercise 3, the correct answer for sentence 1 appeared to be missing.

Only 弄不好 was available.
