很喜欢 is a special case, isn't it. You wouldn't say 很 with 吃, 做, 去, or any other verb. 

So, I'm wondering if 适合 is just another special case. 

Any team members care to chime in?

Just wanted to clarify a grammar question. Isn't 适合 a verb, and therefore cannot be preceded by 很. About halfway down the dialogue the guy says: 冬天吃也很适合. But should it be 合适？

Another great lesson. Quick question. I noticed something interesting in the way the guy says the numbers in his address. He says the street number 121 "yībáièrshíyī" like page numbers are said, but he says his apartment number 509 "wǔlíngjiǔ" like years are said. Is there a Qingwen on this topic? If not, I think it would be fascinating.

Hi podster, 

The hosts themselves say some of the language in this dialogue is pretty old sounding. I assume the roles depicted are old people who are themselves "out of date." My comments are also based on what my language partner said, and she's in her late 40s. Once in a while, this kind of dialogue has it's place. 

The words I'm mainly talking about are令千金 which doesn't show up in standard dictionaries, 好说, old for "哪里" and 随缘, old cultural concept like "follow destiny" it just makes me wonder what else in the dialogue sounds out-dated to native ears. For that reason, I'm less likely to want to make an effort to learn these words beyond a passive understanding level. 

You are right there is a place for dialogue likely to be heard between senior citizens. And I don't want to discourage the awesome writers at Cpod. So, I don't want to make a big deal about it :-)

Also, the content of this lesson is hilarious, clever, and useful, but many of the terms are out-of-date, leaving something to be desired in terms on curriculum planning. Sometimes this is fine, even enjoyable, but I hope it's not because you don't feel there simply aren't any more highly relevant words and and situations that have not already been taught a billion times. Because of course there are--I teach Chinese at a local high school and would be glad to provide a list of words/topics that are in desperate need of the ChinesePod touch, if you know what I mean. Everything you do, you do so well. Thanks again,
