November 5, 2013 at 5:15 PMThe above two comments were in reply to different posts; I wrote them on an iPad, and they ended up here. Weird. So, how do I move them to the right post, or just delete them?

October 30, 2013 at 4:58 PMWhat does the repeated 又是 add to this sentence? Does it give the sense that he is always doing these things with his friends? Would it be fine without them, just without this meaning?
昨晚跟朋友一起又是唱歌,又是喝酒,又是玩游戏,真过瘾!
(Yesterday I sang songs, drank and played games with my friends. It was really fun!)

October 30, 2013 at 4:55 PMWhat's the first 了 doing in this sentence? Or, should the English sentences be in the present-continuing form?

May 27, 2013 at 11:24 AM我的工资都花光了,就等着年终奖呢! I think John explained that the 呢 had something to do with the way we might say, "and" at the beginning of a sentence. A Chinese friend also told me that the pattern Verb着呢 is also a common pattern for the present continuing form "ing" and that seems to be going on in this sentence, although there are other words in between. Any comments?

Is it always 不 bu4 or do we use 没有 mei1you3 sometimes?
