March 28, 2015 at 4:46 AMLove the idea of a bridge lesson. This was a sad topic, to be sure, but one thing that's always impressed me about C-pod was their willness to not shy away from difficult topics. I'm also currious about what makes this lesson a "bridge lesson" from intermediate and upper-intermediate. Is it perhaps the combination of bits of both newspaper and spoken text types?
Great content. Please keep it coming!

November 10, 2014 at 5:57 PMSo, the Lesson PDF (and text version) are kind of messed up in several places. For example, the first two line translations clearly do not match up with the Chinese. Any chance of getting a cleaned up Lesson PDF?

June 8, 2014 at 12:40 AMAlso, the English translation for the next expansion sentence using 更 should not be "Life and family..." It should be:
|
家庭和工作,你觉得哪个更重要? |
|
jiātíng hé gōngzuò, nǐ juéde nǎ gè gèng zhòngyào? Family or work: which do you think is more important? |

June 8, 2014 at 12:35 AMIn this example from the expansion section, shouldn't the gèng 更 be placed before an adjective not verb? Or is this an exception?
他为了你留在中国生活,所以你更应该关心他,理解他。

February 17, 2014 at 6:54 PMThanks, Cpod! Really appreciate the great topics and excellent hosting, as always, including frank assessment of current pros and cons of running marathons in China, air quality, registration price differences for foreigners, etc. Not just a great language resources, but also a great cultural resources!

February 11, 2014 at 3:17 AMGreat topic! Go families! I have so much respect for my Chinese friends, and they way they sacrifice so much for their families, both their parents and children. And, yes, it is often the mother doing the lion's share of the work.

March 30, 2015 at 9:10 PMGreat lesson. Thanks! FYI, the audio for this sentence in the dialogue appears to be wrong. 嗯...十二点二十有一场,我们去排队吧。 It says, 十点二十, not 十二点二十.
