andrewm In Australia pumpkin is mostly eaten as roasted pieces as part of a roast meat meal along with roast potatoes. It is also eaten in the mashed form just like mashed potato. Pumpkin soup is common - some people add cream or pepper to it. Pumpkin pie is also known, but less common.

Forget my last question, I should have waited until I finished listenening to the second half of the podcast, where it was explained that "jiù" was used for "then".

Would it be correct to say that dehuà is like the 'then" of an "If........., then ........." statement? Except in English we mostly leave it (then) out. Reminds we of computer programming, when the IFstatement was followed by a THEN statement.

Yanou, I believe that 不错 (bù cuò) is much more positive in Mandarin than in English.

Hey, have you guys heard of the international date line? For some counties - eg China, Australia, New Zealand - it is the 8th NOW. America - is always behind! (only the 7th at this moment)
