Wikipedia'd pinyin and noticed something called double pinyin (双拼). Is it used much? How popular is it?

Nevermind - I found the entry in Nciku - it translates to nothing.

Also, in the expansion sentence:

他说得特快,我什么也没听清楚。

The second part, I couldn't hear a thing clearly.

什么也 - I guess that translate to "a thing". Can someone expand on how this was constructed?

Is there much of a difference between 返程 and 回程?

More Google hits for 回程, 百庋 shows about even.

Nciku for 门

No, it's not you - I've seen many examples where what is represented on screen is different than what I "wrote"/"input" on the computer. I input 门 on my Macbook with a slant stroke on the top left and get 门, I input 门 with the vertical stroke on top in the middle and I get 门.

I see the stroke not on the top left but on the top middle. It is vertical up and down and not slanted.

What can I say, that's just what it is and you'll have to adjust to it.

No one has ever given me a satisfactory explanation of why this is. I'm fine with it and will adjust, but no one has given me a reasonable exposition.

Look at the Nciku entry:

http://www.nciku.com/search/zh/detail/%E9%97%A8/1310242

The stroke order diagram is different than 门, it has a slant in the left hand corner. The font representation is 门.

The utter randomness to me that is Chinese. As they say in another language, Oy vey.

I'm using Chrome 14.0.835 on Snow Leopard. I get a 404 page when I click on the printer icon.
