February 12, 2010 at 10:07 AMI completely agree with miketommy. In reality this is exactly what we need, especially at upper intermediate level. No matter how frustrating it gets you. I understand. I have only just recently been able to improve my listened ability, and I know the feeling where somethings just don't sound right, but you just have to get used to it that this is chinese...one of the hardest languages.lol. We need this kind of variety in order to survive in the real world of China!!! I hope Xuzhou doesn't change his speed/style of speaking while he does these upper intermediate, and especially not in advanced/media...

February 12, 2010 at 10:03 AM很有玩的一节课。我特别喜欢xuzhou/david主持高中级这种节课。当然我也特别喜欢jenny老师主持。我觉得听不同的声音和口音很有用。让我们熟悉另外一些地方又异性的说法。希望david会做更加一些高中级课。我还有一个问题。。。
1)‘我看你去冲马桶得了’- 这个‘得了’的一部分有什么用?你可以给我解释一下吧。
2)‘我说这位小妹妹’- 这个句子我不明白。课文说,意思是oh come on now,翻译就是‘oh says this person’?是不是像难道这种的问题一样?
对了,对于其他的人的批评,(其实他们说了不是批评但是听起来批评我觉得,我想你的自然说法是真棒的。为了我们打算去中国的人这样的说法最好的。我们不能想到没一个中国人会向我们慢慢地说。特别在高级课里。我想你应该坚持自然地说。如果我们听不懂的话,就可以再听一听吧。加油!!

February 8, 2010 at 4:55 AM大家好。我想问一下,你知道‘反’这个词,在这门课的生词单子上写了意思是‘to turn over'. 好像在我的字典里还有另外一个词也是 ‘to turn over‘ 的意思,就是 翻?你可以告诉我什么情况应该用每一个?
谢谢

February 6, 2010 at 4:00 PMHey, in the expansion part the translation isn't there. Is there anyway to get it up? It only has the pinyin. Could you tell me what '结交新知’means? Is it Associate/share with knew knewledge? Make friends with new people?
Thanks guys

February 5, 2010 at 4:55 AMwow, this supertstitition is a bit of a mindtrip to grasp!!! Interesting lesson though. Does 慢性子describe just someone who is slow at getting things done or is it also to do with people being abit slow in the head (他们的脑子有点慢)? Im guessing perhaps it's more to do with pace of getting stuff done than to do with being 'not quite with it' in the head?

February 15, 2010 at 4:02 AMsorry for another Q. I still am having some trouble with the use of when to omit the 是and leave the 的。For example, in this sentence (再说开放式厨房现在很流行的), it is a 是。。。的 pattern just with the ‘是' omitted isn't it? Are there some kind of rules when you can or cannot omit the 是? How would you know exactly what word to put the 是 before? Am I right in thinking you usually put the 是 just before the thing/word you want to emphasise (whether its a verb or adj)?
Also, in the sentence (看看不就知道了), why is the negative 不used and not just 看看就知道了?
