哎呀，刚开始这个已经看来很有意思的系列。一般来说‘莫名其妙’来形容褒义的情况还是贬义的？都可以？比如我猜有的时候可以说有了indescribable，比较好的感觉。

I'm having a bit of a tough time understanding the logic of this sentence '怎么也不敢动筷子'. Does the double negative not turn in to a positive? Would the sentence have the same meaning if it were '怎么也敢动筷子' (how could I dare to use chopsticks/dig in). From a westerner looking at that '怎么也不敢动筷子' sentence it seems to me like it would be translated as (how could I-NOT dare (不敢）to use chopsticks/dig in?）.

I hate to have to ask this, but the translation bit doesn't translate accurately so I have to ask, is牛鞭 bull's penis?lol. Does the 鞭 always mean this? Or is it just a metaphore for this example, likened to a whip.

Is 生猛海鲜 a 固定搭配 or can the two be separated just to mean living..seafood?

Sorry, few more Qs:

2) In the sentence （我发疯似的。。。）is this a common structure when your describing something is 'similiar to something'... e.g. something(such as adj/noun)+似的。。。?

Is it a bit more formal than '像。。。一样'?

3) Can 请假 just be any way of getting out of class/work? (not just for a holiday)?

看来越听越有意思的一个故事。你知道‘渐渐地。。’这个词。我以为是两个第四声但课文说是两个第一声？ 什么是正确的？在对话里面听起来第四声。有可能是小错误的还是只是另外一个头疼的多音字的词？

Hey. Is 婚纱 bridal veil or bridal dress? My dictionary says bridal dress, but the expansion says veil?

I like this lesson how you have managed to have a comparison with china, so you were able to keep things and words relevent to china as well in the dialogue. In this sentence (看把你激动的)is there no complement for this 把 structure sentence? I am used to my teacher telling me that 把sentences always need a resultative complement?

thanks for the help guys. So its just like the 难道。。。 type rhetorical questions? My teacher must of skipped past this important structure. So the structure of this kind of rhetorical question is 'v+不就。。。（吗）？ In this case meaning something like "looking at it, wont we find out/know...."?
