October 12, 2009 at 7:20 PMgreat lesson, thanks chinese pod. I did have a few questions I wanted to ask you guys...
1) Could you tell me whats the use of 下in '我去给你下碗面条'?
2) What does 真他妈 actually mean? I couldnt find it in my dictionary? Is it more just spoken chinese? When do you usually use it?
3) When they say '连口热水也没有' , is this a metaphore for no hot water in general (e.g. for baths or showers) or is it specifically that there isn't any hot water to drink?

October 1, 2009 at 8:55 PM谢谢给我们这个新的课, 我就是想说,我想了今天的课程有点听不清因为背景的声特别高。希望下个课程可以有背景的声低一点。 谢谢chinesepod, keep up the great work, phil

September 13, 2009 at 9:01 AMHey, thanks for all these lessons, they may seem meaningless to some, but in actual fact when you actually go to china they will really be useful. I wanted to ask one question, what exactly is the difference between deodorant (香体剂)and antiperspirant (止汗剂) other than antiperspirant supposedly stops sweating? I am in england and use antiperspirant deodorant, which is a liquid roll-on, so if i was in china wanting to buy a roll-on liquid antiperspirant deorant would i ask for xiangtiji or zhihanji? is xiangtiji just like non antiperspirant lynx or something (for example a perfume sort of smell which you spray on your body)?
thanks, phil

August 30, 2009 at 1:50 PMhello, very happy with all of chinesepod's services. I just wanted to ask is 清楚 a verb as well as an adjective or just an adjective, for example in the sentence in the expansion ''我清楚多了''. Also I just wanted to make a request, is there any chance perhaps future lessons could include the words adj/v/n/adv (adjective/verb/noun/adverb) like in the vocab section or something? That wold be so helpful. I keep ending up using words in the wrong setting, for example treating them as verbs when they are adjectives, etc etc. Hope that's not too much to ask. Thanks again for all the services. :)
